The tradition of the Christmas Mistletoe dates back to ancient history and is practiced in many cultures.
In ancient druid tradition, the mistletoe was seen as a sign of peace and goodwill warding off evil. Warring tribes chancing across it stopped their battles, and observed a temporary truce.
Modern interpretation relates the mistletoe to love and fertility. According to many traditions, a young woman simply stands under the mistletoe and awaits her lover’s kiss.
In some cultures, if you kiss a woman under the mistletoe, it is a proposal of marriage!
